The Bill (Reg. No. 3427) aims at minimization of negative consequences of the global financial crisis on health protection. Thus, pursuant to the Bill, medical personnel can not be dismissed or forced to take an unpaid leave, and current surcharges and increments can not be reduced.
According to the Bill, "since 1 December 2008, a monthly rate of wages of a first-class employee of government-financed institutions and organizations should be established at the rate of 605 UAH". Since 1 January 2009, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is to envisage financing of village district hospitals, medical dispensaries and first-aid stations from district budgets.
The Committee members believe that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should form a single State register of prices for medicines and commodities of medical use since 1 January 2009.
